On November 11, 2020, a regular coordination meeting of the Department of postgraduate education was held under the chairmanship of the Vice-rector for science and innovation, doctor of technical Sciences, Professor T. Raimberdiev. The meeting was attended by Vice-rector for strategic planning and development B. Suleymenova, head of the air defense Department B. Omarova, heads of departments and responsible officials.
The following issues were considered on the agenda;
1.On the implementation of educational and methodological complexes for master’s degree programs for the 2020-2021 academic year in the platonus system.
- Status of bringing supervisors 2nd year undergraduates enrolled in accordance with the requirements of the order of MES RK from 05.06.2020, No. 231.
- About conducting classes and attendance of undergraduates in the 2020-2021 academic year (September, October).
In his speech, the Vice-rector for science and innovation, doctor of technical Sciences, Professor T. Raimberdiev focused on the quality of educational and methodological complexes implemented in the platonus system in the 2020-2021 academic year for educational programs. Instructed the heads of departments to review the quality of educational and methodological complexes (and their approval).
On the second issue discussed bringing scientific works approved supervisors 2nd year undergraduates enrolled in accordance with the requirements of the order of MES RK from 05.06.2020, No. 231 (para 89). Undergraduates were asked to review the list of scientific research by scientists who supervise undergraduates, determine whether the international peer-reviewed scientific journal JCR (SRV) or indexed in the same database Science Citation Index Expanded, Social Science Citation Index or cite Score with a 25 percent indicator and attach a reference to the collection of their own scientific papers.If the scientific works of managers do not meet the requirements, it can be done on a contractual basis in other higher educational institutions that meet the requirements of the rule.
Heads of the Department are recommended to ensure that the topic of the master’s thesis is based on modern theoretical, methodological and technological achievements of science and technology, consisting of independent scientific research, including theoretical and practical development of an actual problem in the field of the chosen educational program.
In the 2020-2021 academic year (September, October), classes in disciplines for undergraduates in specialties are held online. Conducting daily classes is checked by the Department of postgraduate education. And the fact that previous classes are held online is recorded in a special folder. In particular, in September (in the first decade to 20%, in the second decade – 30%, in the third week – 40%), 40% were in October ( in the first decade – 50%, second week – 60%, in the third week – 70%) – 70%, in the first week of November is 80%. In the second decade of November, it is planned to increase the attendance rate of undergraduates to 100%. In this regard, special work is carried out with undergraduates.
Vice-rector for strategic planning and development B. Suleymenova informed that in November the University will undergo re-accreditation in the specialties and conditions of its implementation. Recommended training schedule, instructions for self-assessment for institutional accreditation. In accordance with the schedule approved on the basis of the instructions and the standard, prepare a certificate and transmit it to the responsible persons.
Head of the air defense Department B. Omarova introduced the participants to the schedule of the online monitoring seminar (ZOOM). From November 23 to December 04, 2020, the purpose of the online seminar is to complete the master’s thesis, strengthen the defense procedure and communication between undergraduates and supervisors.
During the coordination Council, the heads of the Department also spoke about the support of proposals for consideration of issues and their implementation in the established time frame.
During the meeting, participants exchanged information and answered questions.
In conclusion, the Vice-rector for science and innovation, doctor of technical Sciences, Professor T. p. Raimberdiev called on everyone to work to improve the status of the University, train high-quality and qualified specialists. The coordinating Council retained control over the implementation of decisions taken on the agenda.
